I have a 2020 dodge ram, 1500...,5.7 ... 57k miles
Took truck up to get pizza, left pizza parlor heard a slight pop.Engine died rolled into parking lot.Tried to start it, starter stayed.Engaged would not start.I saw the flash behind me.The whole backside of my cab above, the fuel cell was on fire flames were 2 to 2.5 ft above cab, could not get to my fire extinguisher. It was under backseat.Business owner came out with fire extinguisher, got fire out and then it burst into flames again.By then fire department was there., now, I did have debris between the bed and the cab.Leaf debris and stuff like that.So I figured it might have been the cause.. but then, as i've been researching it, it sounds more. And more like it was the fuel pump, and what caught fire had melted. The fuel line and severed the power lines to the fuel pump.. any ideas on what it could be? Seen that it happened on a saturday night. The dealer and all shops are closed until early monday morning
