Wheels and tire team. I finally installed my fuel rims and tires. Love the Falken wild peak at3w so I wanted to get the same set like the factory 18” black rims you see on the rebels came with my back country. I didn’t realize until I did my install that the tread patters are different. Has this happened to any other tire maker?

Stock rim and tires 275-65R18
Aftermarket rim (fuel contra) and tires 275-65R20

Some pics of tires for reference. Smaller tire rim is the factory.

There are different versions of the wildpeak at3. The one on the left isn’t bad in the snow. My father in law has them in his ram. The one on the right is even better in the snow.

Yeah, just looks like OEM A/T3Wa vs aftermarket A/T3W patterns.

This... they are essentially different tires. My spare from the factory is a "A/T3Wa", and I just recently put on new "A/T3W". Pretty stark differences.

Flat out awesome tires in snow and ice... have had plenty of both the last couple weeks.

all correct. Nothing wrong with the AT3wA (OE Wildpeak). It was made as the aftermarket/off-the-shelf Wildpeak AT3w does not meet noise, ride, handling, comfort, among other criteria by Ram. The AT3wA meets their standards due to less aggressive design.

If I'm not mistaken, other tire manufacturers are the same by switching up tread designs from OE to aftermarket or simply just give each tire different names so they are unique.
