Factory Windshield Coating on 2025 RAM 1500

What is on the exterior of the RAM 1500 windscreen? We had an ice storm overnight. the scraper I used to remove the ice scratched whatever coating is on there. I didn't notice it until the damage was done. I'd live with it but the truck only as 1600 miles on the clock. Glass doesn't scratch that easily so there is something on it. Is there tint put on at the factory? My dealer didn't put tint on. Any advice?

There would be no outside coating like you describe. Tint goes on the inside. Unless it was something for transport, but highly unlikely.

Plastic ice scrapers WILL scratch glass. I've seen it many times when living in MN. I used to always start the vehicle and turn on the defroster to loosen ice before wiping off. Glass of today isn't what it used to be I guess as I've seen side windows and windshields scratched up.
