Factory equipped tri-fold tonneau cover??? 2025 limited

well i also have a mopar branded tri fold flush unit it has 2 drains and yes it lets alot more water in the bed than the top mount trifold i had on my last truck. it is a truck bed after all i accept that it is not going to stay dry. tri folds are not waterproof. get a body color fiberglass i piece if you want the bed to be a trunk.
after doing some research i have come to the conclusion the mopar is a rebranded BAKFlip MX4
Did you have to get new cargo rails to install the mopar hard folding tonneau? I have a 2025 Tungsten and hate the soft fold that came from the factory. I bought the hard trifold and picked it up over the weekend only to find that I can't "slide" the cover rail into the cargo rail. The cargo rails from the soft trifold are flat, so there's no groove. If you had to order new cargo rails, what part numbers did you end up ordering? Thank you!

I got the ESI kit. Directions kinda suck. I have a 23 limited w/ ram boxes and factory tri fold.
Is it water proof? No. With the ESI kit…rain stays out 95% or better. But going through a touchless car wash OR using a power washer, it’s going to get a little wet in there.

Best thing you can do is crawl into the bed and have someone shut it…look for daylight and see where you can add sealing.
If I expect heavy rain… or don’t want something to get wet, I either stuff it into the Rambox, back of the cab…or wait…

I removed the factory soft tri-fold. It does nothing but make noise on freeway drives and puts me to sleep because it sounds like raindrops falling on my Ram. The ESI kit works great with my Mopar hard tri-fold. I go through a drive-through car wash a week, and my bed rug stays dry.

I have the radio to combat that… LOL. But I hear you… or “it” I should say. IF I open the rear slider, it is a bit noisy at speed.
I rarely open the slider, but the sunroof is open every single time it can be :)

I like the stow and go availibility of the factory soft tri fold. Easy on, easy off… and almost 2 years and 22K miles.. about half of that with the ESI kit, I simply don’t worry about it.
But I don’t put things like tools, camping goods, etc., back there… and when I wash it, I’m not concerned with a little water back there.
But I hear ya.
