Bit different story here, bought a used truck and for some reason the previous owner cut off the resonators/tips and mangled the mounts also. Anyways, dealer ordered replacement ones through the local truck outfitter, who installed them. Immediately I thought they looked funny, and they said this was the best they could get them and thats normal. I had a 5th gen rebel, it's not normal to me. They look oddly symmetrically off-center. Thoughts?

recently did a muffler swap myself and noticed mine were off center as well, ended up not bothering me and I just left them as is but I am sure I have read there is some level of adjustment to them.

Adjust them yourself

That's my plan, I'll get under there. Just having someone tell me that pisses me off, and I just gotta make sure I'm not crazy. Also they just lost my business of installing my lift kit and some other mods.

Good luck. I have 40k miles and my clamps are frozen. I’ll have to break them off

I'm not sure what they put in, but it's gotta be something like this:

Yea thats what i remember seeing down there. Band clamps

I couldn't get my Borla Atak any better then that.

You can adjust the claps and turn stuff but it never lined up 100%, one side is much higher, but you would NEVER notice it unless you knew it looked like that and inspected it.
I wouldn't worry about it imo, lots of other imperfections on your truck to find and worry about.

A proper muffler shop should be able to put a little heat to this and get them to align properly and it should be relatively cheap.

It sounds like the dealership replaced the resonators with factory ones? If so, you can adjust the tips, they are just bolted on.

If that's not the case, then take it back to the muffler shop and have them align properly, it won't be hard for a muffler shop to do.

The shop doesn't do mufflers, ironically, as I asked about replacing the actual muffler.

I think the one side was missing the mount, so they jerry-rigged the one side then made them both look equally off.

Now I'm ever more upset.

Sorry, I bought it used from the Ford dealership, it was a trade in. I knew the tips were missing and they would replace them, and figured they would be a flowmaster or similar kit. I didn't want the resonators anyways.

Oh gotcha. I would just have the muffler shop they used center the tips, it's pretty easy for them to do. Even they won't do it for free, I would pay another shop to do it better, it shouldn't cost you more than half hour labor, maybe even less.

Little pentrsting oil soak and they will come loose
Tried that too but they still wouldn’t budge. Even the mechanic shop couldn’t get the clamp loose. 🤷🏻‍♂️ So we just adjusted the rear y pipe as a whole unit, got it close, and welded

Impact wrench, and prybar once the bolt is removed.
Doesn't matter now though.
