I am looking for recommendations for new exhaust manifold/header options. Can anyone tell me if the BD Diesel manifolds last longer than OEM? I scoured the forum and it looks like some people have bought the BD Diesel manifolds to replace OEM, but I can't find anyone who has said they're reliable or not based on longer use. Basically, I'm looking for pros & cons of going OEM manifolds, BD Diesel manifolds, or shorty headers.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I don’t believe the BD headers have been out long enough for the (DT) for guys to really put miles on them enough to tell if they will last awhile unlike the stock manifolds. I know from having a 4th gen in the past I never heard anything bad about them on the forums. I myself have a set on order. Shorties on the other hand.. haven’t heard of a set that actually lasted (cracked welds) general consensus is go long tube over shorties. IIRC AFE was the only shorties that seem to last but they came with a long tube type of price tag.

Give the BDs a try if you wanna stick with manifolds more easily available then the 30 million different revision Mopar has put out there in attempt to fix the issue. Unless your under the 60k let the dealer have at it and replace with the new revision. Just my $.2.

Ran a 2-piece BD on my 5.9 Cummins,. They're rock solid. I'd expect nothing less on the product in question.
