Well next week going to do my exhaust manifolds.
Purchased the BD diesel units.
Now thinking about getting a broken exhaust manifold bolt drill template, just in case.

Was told they are cracked, no mention of any broken bolts.
Figured there is a chance of braking one on removal.

Looking at Lisle tools #71500

Anyone use this on their truck?

Unnecessary imo. Have some penetrating oil, quality left hand drill, screw extractor on hand. Use hand tools only when removing and installing new bolts. Avoid the urge to use power tools on the manifold bolts, however it’s fine on the Cat to manifold.. low risk if a bolt breaks. I also use a tap to clean to old threaded holes but not necessary for most. Take your time when loosening the bolts if it feels like its catching dont force it, instead tighten up a turn or two.. use the oil wait a few minutes then try to loosen again.

The manifolds were replaced once already at about 45-50k miles by the dealership under warranty.
Truck now has 157K miles on it.

Murphys law is my shadow....
