Folks,
I'm a newb. So...forgive the lack of knowledge. Looking at changing my tires/wheels, I've found a great site:
www.wheel-size.com
^^^
I've input the stock 20" specs. A 20x9 wheel, with 19.05mm of positive offset, with 275/55 mounted on it.
I like the look of some of the trucks running ~34" tires with a little negative offset. Using a 20x9 wheel, with -12mm offset, and some 275x65 rubber, the above site shows that the tire scrub radius becomes more positive. (The site assumes the OE/first combo has zero scrub radius. That affects the geometry, but they've got to start somewhere.)
Will too wide and/or tall of a tire make the truck "darty" when braking?
Should I even be thinking about this stuff, or should I just bolt on some new wheels and tires?
Something tells me I'm overthinking this...
Thanks,
Ken

Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets
Tire Tech Information - The Wheel Fitment, Tyre Stretch, Rolling Radius and Speedometer Error Calculator. Play with specs, try different settings, compare results
