I leased a 21 1500 hemi E torque model. As I had a 2018 1500 hemi before. When I went to get my new truck they had 2 in stock n both same model just different colors. My question is, my 2018 got about 330 miles per tank. I mostly drive city but when I got my new truck in only getting like 250 per tank now. Is this due to the E torque. I changed nothing, I drive the same way and the same distance?

Thank you

The E-torques seem to have a 23 gallon tank (vs 26). That may not help your calculation. Check into that

They both had the same 23 gallon tank too. That much I did know. Thank you

The range will change depending on some mystery mpg average. Many times I have left home with it telling me I had a 445 mile range (as an example) and ten miles later, after cruising-controlling sedately down the freeway, I will show a 447 mile range. And fifty miles later, a 435 mile range. If you consistently show such a short range, you must do a lot of driving in heavy traffic or have a lead foot.

Not that this directly answers your as question, as it doesn’t because have a 33 gallon tank, but I get 15-16mpgs around town and 19-20mpgs on the open road. My rig has 6000 miles on it and I’m a 5mph over the speed limit type of guy With a light foot.

Between the 2 vehicles I have I drive the same. I drive bad but consistent between the 2 vehicles and the miles are way different. O well. Just didn't know if it was something I didn't know about

Thanks for the replies

I have an ET and noticed I can control better mileage with the MDS turned off…my MDS comes on way too early and seems to bog down the truck on some of the hills of PA.

I usually get 15-16 in town and 17-18 on the highway. I have larger tires on and don’t drive much, so that’s the reasoning for my gas mileage.

Thank you all. Once I get my truck back im going to have to look into some of these things. It was hit n is currently getting fixed. But I think I was only get like 12 mpg at most in city

For me I've noticed if the temp is below 50 I'll only average 17-18 but around 50+ degrees i'll average 20-21.

when i bought my 2021 et i was getting 18 mpg. now 6 months later @4800 miles i'm getting 16.3 nothing has changed since new

Winter fuel and cold weather will cause that much of a drop in mpg.
For sure. I typically notice a 2 mpg drop during winter. Not only caused by the winter fuel, but also the slightly increased idle time to allow the engine to warm up a bit longer than during warmer months.

I'm already getting 1 mpg better mileage during this little warm stretch we are having. I should be back at 17.5 mpg as soon as the winter blend is gone. When do they switch the fuel?

17.5 mpg is great for a truck this size. Mine was closer to 16.5 at the end of last summer.

I'm not sure when they make the switch. But I'm still hovering around 14.5 to 15 mpg. Hopefully it happens soon.

Hmm weird when I filled up from empty it took 23 gallons. Thanks for that info. That makes sense then.

Thank you
That's pretty normal. For instance, when I had a truck with a 23 gallon tank, I wasn't able to get much more than 19 gallons in. My current truck has a 33 gallon tank, and the pump shuts off at just under 30 gallons when filling from empty.

I'm sitting right at 16.5 right now, which is easily 1-1.5 better than winter.

Did your axle ratio change from old truck to new truck? It really wouldn't change the city mpg but it would change the highway mpg.
