I noticed today when getting out of my truck that I felt and heard a little bit of forward/backward play on my driver's seat.

When I mean a little, I'm talking about 1-2 mm or so of "rocking" play in the seat. I hear it more than feel it, it makes a light clicking sound as it rocks back and forth, if I didn't hear the sound it would be harder for me to notice the motion.

I checked the 2 front & 2 rear 12mm bolts that hold the whole seat to the floor, along with checking the few bolts and fasteners I could reach under the seat. Everything is super tight, I think the movement is somewhere in the upper part of the mechanism, but not sure. Could be part of the adjustable mechanism getting looser over time or maybe even the seat rail itself.

Has anyone else noticed this in their seat? I would like to try to adjust it myself if possible, not sure it's enough now that the dealer will notice (or admit) there is an issue.

Sounds like something may be broken. I removed a seat mount bolt a while back and I swear it was torqued to about 10,000 ft lbs so I don't think they will accidentally work themselves lose.

That is definitely a possibility.

I did watch some not RAM specific powered seats getting fixed online, their design looks very similar due to the nature of car seats, but it did give me a good idea on what could be an issue. Higher up on the seat, their are 4 bolts, two on each side that are pivots points for the seat height adjustment. If they get loose over time, they will cause a forward/backward gap.

As far as I can tell, the best way to fix it is to remove the seat to better access those bolts, especially on the right side of the seat which is close to the center console. I may just wait to see if it gets looser, then take it to the dealer at that point since I'm still under extended warranty.

I was hoping for a simpler fix, but this seems to be my best options now, either remove the seat and tighten those bolts or let the dealer do it.
