What are you folks using to protect the edges of the doors from getting chipped and dented. My wife isn't that careful ask me how I know! I see stuff listed on Amazon for $10 bucks that is black. May be just fine but I have never used this stuff before. Thanks.

I used to use the black rubber stuff but now I use this.

So much nicer and inconspicuous.

How thick is that vinyl? On an older vehicle I had a local shop apply clear vinyl door edge protection while it was in their shop getting other graphics applied. It was no thinking than regular vinyl and I still ended up with paint chips on the door edge

i use my words "hay babe LISTEN take it easy in my door!"
or open and close the door for her as much as possible. just say, i'll get the door for you. she'll think your chivalrous.

The WHY the doors on my 2000 7.3 are still nice.
She proudly tells people I still open the door for her.
The little voices in my head LOL at that.

It's 8mil thick. I've used that same roll on many vehicles and no chips on the door edges - but they are all opened carefully.

My kids fear the wrath of dad if they chip his truck!

Works great. Definitely do it yourself. They have cups for door handles and other little things too. My dealer always pre-applies and charges 3-5x the price of Amazon. Along with the nitrogen in tires, paint protection, etc. LOL!! It is always like $2K which I refuse to pay.
