Does the TCM control the 4WD functions?

I flat tow my 2023 1500. A couple times this summer when we are disconnecting we get errors when starting the vehicle (4WD system not available on dash, all 4WD lights flashing, remove vehicle from Neutral TC). We turn off the engine and open the door, then close and restart to no errors. I took the truck into the Dealer and they found a couple of old codes (C2226-00 TCM to ECU errors). I suspect this is a software issue (I have found the RAM has some poor software). My question is does the TCM control the 4WD functions, since that is what is giving the errors or is the 4WD system reacting to the C2226 error and removing the transfer case from Neutral? Thanks in advance.

Are you towing properly? The transmission should be in park, and the transfer case in neutral. If not, that may cause the problem. No longer a mechanic, but it makes sense, that the TCM controls the transfer case too.
