This is long overdue.
A lot of time has passed since my last post. Meant to document my journey DIY wrapping but life really threw a wrench at me and long story short I needed quite a bit of time to regroup. By the time I started wrapping again I honestly just forgot I wanted to share my process/progress.
I was able to do most of the panels on this truck but the bumpers were so daunting and again life got in the way so for quite a long time I had the bumpers and the roof unwrapped.
Eventually I just got sick of not having it finished, and the thought of doing the bumpers was so intimidating I said screw it and took it to an installer to finish off for me which he did a couple nights ago. Even he said he hates the front bumper especially on these trucks so take that for what you will. I feel justified and validated for that.
The wrap again is, 3M 2080 Series and the color is Satin Thundercloud Grey (it's not quite as blue in person BTW). From what I could find online, and from what the installer said, this color is extremely rare. He's willing to bet this is the only truck this color in all of Canada. Would definitely like to hear from anyone that's seen this in the wild and where.
Apologies to those that were following along and wanted to see this project come together. Life kicks us in the nuts sometimes so I wasn't able to deliver despite my excitement to share. This caps off this journey for me and I'll leave the possibility open to doing this again down the road.
For now I'm extremely happy with this and love how it's turned out. Say hi if you see me out in the wild. I'm the guy with the polar bear license plate roaming Alberta. I'll also be road tripping thru the states soon.
