My 2020 Bighorn has the 5" Uconnect. Sometime in December, my driver side dash speaker started to have some distorted sound to it. I purchased an aftermarket replacement speaker for it, but the distorted sound remains. This tells me that it's not a speaker issue. That leaves either wiring or amp/head unit as the culprit from my viewpoint. The dealership wants a very heft sum of money to even investigate the issue, so I think I want to see what I can do on my own. Can anyone help with the following questions?
- Is there a separate amplifier between the speakers and the head unit, or is the amplifier built into the head unit?
- Has anyone else had this issue? How did you resolve it?
- Does anyone know if there are any TSBs for this issue?
