Day time running lights in Canada

Who hates there dtrl in Canada? My Laramie Longhorn with the upgraded LED projector headlights are full power low beams, high beams at half power,are on all the time turning the light switch to different positions makes no difference. Complained to the dealer he says this is the way they are supposed to be. When you shift in to park the lights stay on when the switch is in the off position

Unfortunately it is part of our motor vehicle act. There are ways on most vehicles to disable this, idk if someone has figured out DT Rams yet.
 
The upper and lower stripes would only be required as DRL's, just like it shows on Ram TV commercials. I hate them too and had a thread already started on this. My understanding is the dealer should be able to change it and I'm going to try when I get my windshield changed.
