Hey Guys,

New to the form here and was wondering if this has been covered before.

Just bought a new ram rebel and was wondering if it is doable to add some ambient lighting like the led strip above the glove box on the dash.

Would add a nice touch to an already nice interior.

Thanks,

Yes, the Rebel dash has the openings for ambient lighting above the glove box and on both sides of the instrument cluster. Also, all the locations on the doors as well. But, the locations are empty and no factory harness is present.

One option would be to install an aftermarket kit like this in the openings on the dash and in door pockets: https://www.xkglow.com/catalog/prod...-optic-kits-for-cars-xkchrome-smartphone-app/

Another option would be to order all the factory components and wiring, then have the sales code added to your vehicle (if possible and rather expensive).

I for one am going to try the XKGlow kit as it can be set up to change color with a sensor wire. So, you could say tap in to the door switch and when the door opens they could be white and then switch to red when closed. Something of that sort. I'm in the middle of doing a lift and wheels. So, this will have to wait a bit.

That's good news I guess.

Would be nice to see a DIY done for this. I am a big fan of ambient lighting.

I think the rebel cab can get dark at night especially on the passenger side.
