Control arms for leveling kit?

Do we need to replace control arms if we aren’t going above 3” on rams? I know with Chevy it’s safe as long as you’re staying under 3” of lift.
 
Coworker leveled his BTS 2.5" and he ended up replacing his arms. The factory started creaking really bad. He installed the ram lift kit upper control arms.
 
I think unless your going 2” or above your fine but I would still replace them as preventive maintenance and keeping those cv axles at a better angle. Mopars control arms are rather cheap or spend the money and get something beefer and better like readlifts, zone etc especially since you’ll be right there anyways during the install.

IIRC BTS has the factory Rebel like 1” off-road lift already so if he added of 2.5” lift to it that would explain it.

Yeah the off road group sits higher.
