Cold air intake worth it ?

Lots of threads here discussing this topic. If your reason for buying one is to change how your engine sounds (especially on acceleration) or you like the looks then go for it. But as already mentioned, it will not improve performance or fuel economy. The only time a CAI will help with those is if the factory intake is restrictive. Pretty much all newer vehicles have intakes that flow well, so you'd be better putting that money towards something else if you're looking for a performance bump.

The Ram already has one installed from the factory. You can replace the filter with a better one. You won't get better gas mileage or performance and anyone who says otherwise is just being misleading.
I have verified increase in performance with my Vararam. But I only got it for the looks

A number of guys on bitog claim that the air filter is even more important/critical than the oil filter when it comes to removing particles that can damage the engine. If you mess with the air intake, I'd try to verify that you're not running a less efficient air filter than stock, especially if you live in dusty/sandy conditions.

I regret touching my intake because my gas milage hasn't been the same. I started with a varam and now have the nice mopar intake, but factory seemed the best.
I feel this loss of mpg may be do to an increase in over stimulation of the right foot that these cold air intakes cause 🤔

To quote Bill Murray in "Stripes"...
'I've never bought a cold air intake for the mpg, but I'm willing to try!'
(wait, maybe that's not what he said, I forget)

But you are not stock with the Pulsar installed. We have the same intake and before I installed the Pulsar there was no real change. And far from their claim.

I really wish Ram's Airflow intake had been designed to look more like the Vararam, which is so classic Mopar looking!
The G/T has the similar look and placement. But even on that Ram offers no power or mileage gains. I have a buddy that installed it to clear out the original spot for and air compressor though. Which I thought was ingenious. Not his idea though.

I installed the Vararam well before the Pulsar. Vararam was actually one of the first mods I did. I did have the TazerDT at the time, which is how I verified difference in acceleration, but no Pulsar

No, it's not worth it and there will be no noticeable performance gains over the factory air box. Additionally, the high flow filters that come with almost all CAIs will allow much more dirt into your engine. K&N is among the worst filters when it comes to filtering dirt.

Is the Mopar intake any louder than the factory air box?
Not that I can tell..there is ZERO noise from the Mopar Airflow..it's completely sealed.
Even at full throttle there's nothing you can hear from it..but I do have a G/T, so the exhaust rumbles too much to hear any air intake.
I would never advise spending the money for the Airflow, but it came with the G/T, so meh!

I think some variables come into play when answering this question to be fair with the answer. Most of the time the straight-up answer may be no to a small percentage of gain that's not cost effective. I've worked as a BMW and Diesel mechanic most of my life for whatever that's worth to you. Most of the time you must increase the airflow before and after the engine before anything is gained at all or through any other mod is made. My 2005 F350 stock air box is good for 500 to 600hp I think, so nothing much would change at all. I think from gearing around from the age of 14 I've always done it because it has to happen before anything else can be done typically. I hope that this has helped because we don't need any more word salads 😵‍💫

My S/B was for sound and looks mostly but I think it has a little more pep. I like the fact when I open the hood I get a good look at the filter to tell if it's clean.
