hello everyone
i'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue or might have any suggestions. After tracing down many electrical issues with my 2019 ram 1500. I have finally gotten down to a P2138 code indicating improper voltage reading from the accelerator pedal sensor. Just for grins and because it was super easy and fairly inexpensive I went ahead and replaced the pedal and that is not the issue.
For a little backstory this all happened shortly after doing an MDS delete on the truck. There were a multitude of electrical codes that came up but after figuring out we had a bad PCM we replaced that and all the codes except this one went away. I'm kind of thinking something is at least partially grounded out or there's a can bus problem. I ordered an oscilloscope so I can check the canvas signal. One thing that really puzzles me is the P2138 is very intermittent as far as how long it takes to cause a throttle problem but it happens 99.9% of the time. Sometimes it will happen within minutes of starting the truck and other times it will take an hour or two or even longer to show up. When I turn the truck off and back on again the code resets or at least the accelerator works for a time.
