The check engine light came on a few weeks ago. I read the code and it indicates an issue with the active grill shutters (u11e9 iirc). I cleared the code hoping it was just a transitory one-time thing, but it came back a few days later. I checked it and cleared it again. It came back a third time. It is a 2019, but it is manufacturer certified by MOPAR with a $100 deductible. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer. But by the time my appointment date rolled around, the code had cleared itself.
The dealer found the stored code, and confirmed it points to the AGS. Without an active check engine light, they said there was nothing they could do beyond re-seating the connector, confirming there was no water intrusion, and verifying that the shutters are functioning as expected. They did all this and gave it back to me.
Now the check engine light doesn't come on at all. Like when I start the truck, all the indicator lights come on in the instrument cluster EXCEPT not the check engine light. It always came on for just a second or three and went out, just like every car I've ever owned.
What does this mean?
