carplay bluetooth question

Hi all,

I notice when I get into my truck my phone connects to Bluetooth . I connect my phone to the wire, carplay starts and I can make calls over the speakers and use the car play icons etc.. everything works as expected.

The weird thing is if I unplug my phone from the wire, the normal Bluetooth connection doesn't reestablish.

If I shut the truck off and on, my Bluetooth always hooks up before carplay. why wouldn't it revert back to Bluetooth if I unplug the cable and disconnect carplay?

I can reestablish the Bluetooth connection through settings, but it would be nice if the system handled this seamlessly. Is this by design, or is there a setting to fix this?

I believe mine works the same way but I like CarPlay so much that I pretty much plug it in every time, so I can't say that this has been a major issue for me.
