Cargo light stays on

New to group. Just got my bighorn a few weeks ago and noticed the rear exterior cargo bed light at top of cab is staying on after truck is locked.
I have to go back in truck and shut off the cargo light switch manually to get it to stay off, but it will come on again and stay on again next time I lock truck.
Any ideas ?

How long after? Are you getting a tailgate open message on the dash? Some folks have found that they need to slam the tailgate a few times to get it to seat correctly.
