I rarely used my sun visor swung out to the left, but when I did I found it would swing back and bump my head when I turned left. Odd. Well it happened again and I decided to investigate. I could see that a plastic piece that held the metal rod up into the roof had broken and by the time I finished messing with it, the visor was hanging down.

No, I didn't take a picture. That's because I got it fixed too quickly.

Rolled into the dealer yesterday (Friday) at 4:00 with no appointment. They had the part in stock and I was on my way in less than an hour!

The service advisor claimed this was not an uncommon problem.

Anybody else experience this?

One more surprise - I had to reprogram the Homelink buttons to control my garage doors. I would think that function would be buried somewhere in a body computer, not in the actual sun visor.

Homelink is self-contained in the visor and merely gets power from the same circuit as the vanity mirror lights.

Yes, it happened to me also, the plastic piece just snapped while I was swinging it to my left. I had the truck about a year when this happened. Dealer fixed it while I waited.
