So can't quite stomach spending 1k plus to do whole borla package but still want the muffler. Has anyone installed the muffler only and deleted the stock resonators with straight pipes? I'm interested to find out with using normal run of the mill pipes near tips would create an annoying drone?

Quite a few people have used a borla 40353 proXS muffler in place of the factory muffler.

I replaced factory muffler with Borla Atak muffler and removed rear resonators. Very happy with the sound. Get a lot of compliments. Lil wild sounding when cold but when warmed off more mellower.
I did the borla touring, removed the resonators and added 5” tips. Nice sound. Not overbearing, great sound —no drone
