Part #'s of used mirrors and new modules. All mopar
68424178AC - Passenger module
68424179AC - Driver module

5ZK45KXJAG - Driver mirror
5ZK44KXJAH - Passenger mirror

I removed the old modules and install new modules and used power folding mirrors (ebay). Vehicle and mirrors had BSM before, and new mirrors also have it. Installed, hooked up OBD Link MX+ and ran AlphaOBD. After some work, I got everything up and running. Did a test drive around the neighborhood and everything was good. I ran an errand later in the day and on the way home, the passenger blind spot monitor orange light turned on, on the passenger mirror and wouldn't shut off. The dash also said "Blind Spot Monitor Unavailable". Got home and tried to diagnose and trying to narrow down the issue. All connections are solid on the module.

Here is the troubleshooting steps I have performed and the results:
- Plugged in original modules - no blind spot monitor failure on dash or in AlphaOBD under Driver/Passenger door module. Leads me to believe nothing wrong with the system, wiring, or the BSM system itself.

- Put new modules back in, reseated connections, hooked up OBD Link and AlphaOBD gave fault of B285F "Blind Spot Warning Light Control", "Short circuit to +battery/Open Circuit". I don't know how to tell which module would be the faulty one, or if I programmed something wrong when I initially ran Alpha OBD over the weekend? Now the strange thing, the passenger mirror is the one that the BSM turned on and won't turn off. Also, when I tried under Alpha OBD to "Read System Status", it couldn't populate the whole list of details. Whereas on the driver side when I did the same thing, I had no issue seeing full detailed list of System Status. Leads me to think the passenger module could be bad, or ???

-Connected only driver or passenger module, with both new and old module and still saw the same fault. Assuming the system needs both modules or I will see the error.

Now maybe this isn't possible, but I tried to install new module on driver and old module on passenger to remove the possible faulty passenger module, but still got the BSM error. I also tried new module on passenger and old on driver and got same error. The one thing I am curious about is that if I don't have the mirrors plugged into the modules, would that cause the BSM to fail? Like does it need the mirrors connected in order to complete the circuit. If so, then I need to retest all the combinations to see if I can narrow down the issue. Only reason I didn't connect the mirrors was I wasn't sure if it mattered or would cause issues if I had new module with old mirror, or old module with new mirror. I didn't think it would cause any issues for purposes of testing BSM as both mirrors and modules have it. I didn't want to risk ruining anything and hoping I didn't make any mistakes.

My next thing to do tonite is hook up the security bypass cable again and disabled BSM, then renable it? I wouldn't think there is firmware or anything on the modules that it would need as I bought them new and says manufactured in 2025.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Hoping it's something simple like reprogramming or just a bad module.
