I have a limited with the chrome window surround trim. I'm swapping it out with the black ones like found on a night edition limited and have started getting some of the pieces. I noticed that its got some kind of rubberized coating on there. Are all the window pieces in black like that or did I order the wrong parts? I see on some model night editions, the black pieces like the hood applique are a matte finish but in the limited, they're gloss black and was thinking maybe the window surround pieces are different as well. Can anyone with a night edition Limited check to see if the window surround on your truck is the same soft touch rubber like material as the other model 1500s or if its painted metal. I've tried searching for a limited night edition locally at a dealer to see for myself but there's none around.

I dont know about the trim parts but another option is to have them wrapped. I had my limited chrome window trim wrapped black at a shop and they look very nice. Just another option if this doesn't pan out for you.. tempImageAzibS3.jpg

Thanks. Tried vinyl wrap and wasn’t happy with the way it turned out. Hard to find good vinyl guys around my area

take your original ones off & let a body shop paint them gloss black

Be careful when removing the top trim piece on all 4 windows. There’s little metal clips holding it in and they grip very tight . I destroyed 2 of mine removing them and had to order new ones .

tape up the painted area around the trim to prevent scratches in the paint if you slip & just take your time once you get one off study the clips & you will see the best way to get them off

That’s what I was worried about. I’m in the land of corporate body shops so finding someone to do custom work like this, especially painting over chrome, is next to impossible. I have the black rubberized ones here, just wanted to see if maybe the limited ones are different. Thanks
