Check for water in right rear taillight. Background on me - grew up in an alternator / battery shop from grade school through high school. Then owned car stereo and home theatre stores - have many certifications including Master Installer Level.
Been dealing with “updating” 12” screen.
Tested batteries, alternator, cleaned connections.
Was about to decide it had to be the alternator -
I called a friend from the shop I grew up in. We walked through it - found an any time I turned the headlights on the screen died.
Engine on , engine off - same thing.
He googled around and found water in taillights.
Sure enough - my right rear taillight was full of water.
I drained it out by removing the blind spot sensor. (Alum heat sink in middle of taillight. Note the burnt electrical smell is strong!
Now the screen , front windows,AC all work fine again. Not sure the blind spot sensor and right rear turn signal are going to dry out and survive.
