Black door handles

Hey fellas, I’ve seen black overlays for the door handles- has anyone just painted them black instead? I am new white Ram owner and I want to start the process of blacking it out.

You bought a white truck with the intention of blacking it out? Or are you just blacking out the chrome?

Seems like he wants to black out the chrome. You could always buy unpainted door handles. I feel like on a high contact item like a door handle you'll scratch or wear down the paint if you just spray paint them.

I've got a 2021 White Lonestar with the Night Edition Package and my handles are body color. No chrome on the truck but I think they would look a bit out of place blacked out. They would really stick out against all that white.

I vinyl wrapped the chrome part on mine with gloss black wrap.
Took about 10 minutes each handle and came out good for first time wrap. And cost me $15.

did you have to cut the vinyl to size? also mind sharing what and where you purchased it?

Amazon, 1ft x 5ft vinyl wrap gloss black.
I cut 4 strips of 6 inches x 12 inches
I used heat to stretch and shape it into place. Tons of videos everywhere on how to do that
I used a sharp blade at the end to cut the vinyl in the gap between the chrome and the rest of handle
It came out decent for a first time wrap.

I did the black overlays just to see if I liked the look of black handles on a white truck, and I have to say that I’m a fan. Covers fit good and you can’t really tell they are covers. Being covers though, and being a high wear item, I’m not confident these will hold up forever. When they start showing signs of wear, I’ll probably just order some brilliant black replacements.
