That's insane, not even sure if it's legal they didn't inspect his vehicle...
Could of just took it to another state and sold it to a Carmax or whatever.
Near year it would pass state inspection in MA as we only need to pass emissions for the first 15 years of a trucks life.
When my exhaust on my 97 Expedition fell off I just zip tied it up so I didn't need to take it off the hanger. No problems passing inspection with no exhaust even connected lol.
Facebook is terrible and even worse then Craigslist, so many scammers and people trying to screw with you.

Always check out profiles when dealing on Facebook, if it looks weird or is brand new... red flags.
