I've read about that happening. I would assume pulley misalignment on the etorque motor/gen drive system (captain obvious). Have you had it looked at by a dealership?

For sure, going in tomorrow, from the body shop who found it as they were removing the wrap. **** comes in bunches, must have happened when my daughter was driving it, can't imagine me not hearing it feeling it hit the underside of the hood.

Not yet, going on tomorrow, have not towed with it, and cant imagine not hearing it whine ahead of letting go, or the impact with the inside of the hood. Daughter had the truck for a week so could have happened then.

It's not likely you would have noticed it. I doubt it made much noise. It wouldn't be like the old days of loose v-belts squealing.

If you've never had a serpentine belt shred on you, you definitely hear it.

I have had it happen. Didn't hear it until the belt failed completely and slapped the underside of the hood. Before that there was no unusual noises or other indication the belt was coming apart. OP's belt is still functioning in the pics he posted.

Look at that third pic, tore up the inside of the hood insulation, would assume that made a racket when it nuked.

That’s a good point. Was the hood liner undamaged before the belt came apart? If that happened in one event I’m wondering how your daughter didn’t notice it if she was indeed driving when it happened.

I am sure the music was very loud her and her girlfriend were chatting and didn't notice anything not surprised.

Warranty replaced the serpentine belt, water pump belt, need to order the hood liner that got trashed. No other damage they could find to hoses or wiring.
