Hey all, so my BakFlip MX4 is breaking down after about 3 years or so., mainly the rubber joints between panels are completely cracked off and they allow water through. Plus since they don't pivot correctly the latchs don't seat on the rails well. Anyone know if they sell replacements or how to contact BAK about this? BakFlip support email on their website gets returned undeliverable...

It's my understanding this cover has a 5 year warranty. Check with Real Truck..

Interesting. I bought and had installed a BakFlip MX4 last fall on my 2024 RAM 2500 Rebel and it looks just like your photos, same issues. The shop said that BakFlip was aware of the fitting issue of my truck and would have a fix or replacement by the first of the year. I checked with them a couple weeks ago and they said to check back again in a couple months. Wondering if they were giving me the runaround, I contacted BakFlip 3 times on their website contact and Real Truck twice, explaining just as I have here. No replies from either and it's been over a week.
Somebody is lying. I plan to take it back to the shop, have it removed and buy a different brand somewhere else. My advice to you is to use your warranty if you have one and try to make some deal where you get your money back or can sell the new BakFlip and find another brand. Just my 2 cents. Wish you good luck.

Sorry to hear this. I've had several Bak Flips on past trucks. One lasted 6 years, transferred across 3 company trucks, and I resold it. I recommend them to everyone... I hope these reports aren't a sign of quality change.

Bought mine in July 2020 so hopefully the 5 year warranty will hold up. I contacted RealTruck and they asked for the SN and mailing address to send me a new one so fingers crossed 🤞

For some reason I thought it was only a 3 year warranty but apparently it's 5 and just got confirmation Bak is sending me a replacement cover! Sweet! Thanks mate!

I went through the Real Truck's page here and chose "Submit Warranty Claim" button then "Email Bak Industries." They followed up within an hour or so via email and asked for my SN and mailing address, both of which I provided and sent a picture of the SN/barcode from the bottom of my MX4.

Just replaced the tonneau cover this afternoon. Initially I thought I'd just swap the cover/panels out but the design is slightly different: the cover retention system near the bulkhead is different (and easier than the old design to install), rail clamps are different, even the drain tubes are smaller gauge. The cover itself is significantly lighter and easier to lift/operate and the pull cord/latches seem smoother. The rails seem to have less wiggle and the lighter cover doesn't jostle them nearly as much. My one complaint with my previous model was the hooks to hold the rods that prop the cover up open horizontal and the rods would constantly pop loose when I hit big bumps. The new hooks open upward and should retain them better.

Hopefully an all around improved design but time will tell. Super happy with Bak and their customer service as the process from requesting a warranty replacement to getting a completely new kit was quick and painless. Highly recommended!

Amazing! The design of the MX4 has improved so much over the years. It's always great to hear it first hand from a satisfied customer! It looks great!

Seems to be an overall better design. I assume the weight reduction is thinner panels? Seems the weight support on top of the panels is unchanged?

But yeah, I really liked the old one, disappointed it fell apart but very satisfied with RealTruck warranty service
