I've generally been happy with my 2021 Ram 1500. With my 2015 Ram I drove to Bristol twice for NASCAR races and once to Denver - from Minnesota. I do have a history of back problems so I'm thinking about our Griswold family vacation this summer all the way to the west coast, Portland to LA, then back. That's two and a half weeks of constant driving. I'm worried about how my back (and ****) will handle it all. I used to drive to North Carolina all the time and did Southeast and Southwest road trips in my 20s when I did all of the driving.

Any recommendations for a seat insert that works well in the Rams? I know it's like asking for your favorite shoe suggestion, but would happy to hear what has worked for others. I want to try one or two out ahead of the trip.

I find the seat considerably more comfortable than my old Tundra (which did need a pad) and find the best solution when my back is playing up is to turn the heating element on - works wonders on a back that took a 60' lead fall climbing in my late teens....

Have you considered the Seat Jackers? Not a back pad, but makes significant improvements in seating position which helps with back pain. I have them, as do quite a few members here, and I love them.

second DDI's Seat Jackers.
They are one of the reason why I was able to drive for 6+ hours a day for 50 days for my trip to Alaska and Arctic.

I too, have back isssues (which puts me away from riding sports bikes)

I did read about them previously. The impression that I had was that they are especially helpful for taller people, because it aligns your lower body and legs better. I'm only 5'8" so I don't think that is going to solve the problem. It might make it harder for me to reach the pedals! IDK

I like the suggestion

Not a guarantee for everyone. I’m 5’ 9” and they helped me. I had to play with the seat adjustment under my knees, the seat distance from the steering wheel, the back angle, and the pedal adjustments until I could find the perfect spot. Then I saved it in the seat memory.

Just my personal experience, I am 5' 10" with a 28" inseam so I am a bit top heavy lol (and yes the visual you have is probably correct). The seat jackers worked perfectly for me in my Tacoma, unfortunately in the RAM I spent 6 months playing with them. I never didnt feel like a 2 year old in a high chair with my legs dangling into the abyss. Outside of my G8 w/ the CTSV seat swap I have never been super comfortable driving more than 3 hours or so at a time. Anyway I said all of that to say this, I purchased one of those wood beaded seat covers they always show taxi drivers using about a year or so ago, I can now make the GA-Maryland trip with only stopping for gas without being in to much discomfort after the drive.
