As many of you know i was having a whirling noise which i believe came from the cat of my 2020 1500 laramie 4x4.
I turned it in wednesday of last week. I made three complaints.
1 The whirling noise from under the truck in idle as well as drive.
2 A loose dome lamp in the rear 🤫
3 a rough shift in the trans. Especially from park to drive.
After 5 days of being without a vehicle and riding the bus to and fro cause they were out of rentals here in so cal . Finally got the call this monday , she was ready.
Report was, the whirling noise i was reporting about was said to be normal and is from the transfer case while its shifting , makes no sense cause the noise happens in park as well . The dome lamp clips werent set right "somebody" was messing with it lol.
And the trans was rough shifting but they had a flash update 🙂 i will say she shifts so good. 0 to 60 in almost 5 seconds.
Wish the noise was taken care of but i am satisfied

Transfer case only shifts if your changing the gears in it... if it’s doing it in 2wd or any other gear without you changing it then it’s not the transfer case

Thats what i said. It took then 5 days to tell me something i already knew.
I gave the lady a very perplexed look when she told me that one.

Bring it back and complain to the service manager... most likely the tech doesn’t have all the information and isn’t paying attention that the noise happens even without shifting the transfer case. He probably thinks your hitting the button and complaining about the noise.
