Hi All,

There are lot of threads regarding Tires / Wheels but my situation is unique:

I bought this Truck as-is, including wheels / tires. This is my first pickup Truck (2019 1500 Ltd.) so I am not sure how it should ride. I always felt the ride was not as smooth as advertised for a Ltd. and it is also noisy in the cabin possibly because of the tires. But as mentioned, this is my first pickup truck so didn’t know any better.

Recently, a friend of mine sat in the Truck and commented the ride is choppy and noisy; he thinks its because of the Tires. Since Since I will have to buy new tires within a year so am hoping to get something in similar specs but less choppy & noisy & all weather. Is there a "perfect" tire out there?

Unfortunately, I don’t have the budget to buy or invest in new wheels but am being proactive rather than last minute impulse buy when the time comes.

So my question is:

  • What are my options, re: Tires? I can’t find any other tires with the same specs that are all weather (not all season or summer).
  • I visited couple of tire shops but that was waste of my time. 1 guy suggested a tire and I asked them about rubbing issue and he started adding $$$ to make it rub-free.
  • Any other suggestions?
  • I am in Vancouver, Canada (area) if that matters.

Thank you in advance 😊

In that size you're going to be limited to only a few tires.

play with this Tire Calculator and see what's available. Honestly, you're probably going to have to downsize the wheels

Well a couple things come to mind that could be contributing to a harsh ride. With that wheel and tire size your not leaving yourself with much sidewall. Downsize your rim size and go a tire size that gives you enough sidewall to cushion the ride. Atturo tires… I’m strong believer in you get what you pay for.. pay more and go with a quality tire manuf. I know some will swear by cheaper tires but you either pay more now and get a better tire that will last longer and give you better ride quality, or burn through a set quicker and deal w/ the rougher ride.

You may want to look for a set of Ram takeoffs in 18 or 20". I have a set of 20s here to get rid of but I'm in SC. Look local. the atturos make a little noise but they aren't terrible. that big wheel low sidewall is contributing a lot.

This is what I was thinking as well. With a lot of searching and a little patients you can find great deals on low mileage factory take-offs that will save you the mount & balance fees, and if you can install them yourself you save even more money.
