Hey all, I was hoping to get some insight on the effectiveness of the bug and rock deflectors. After just four months of ownership I am going to be needing to replace my front windshield due to a crack dead center in front of the rear view mirror.

I'm not a huge fan of the look although if they can save me a $900 windshield replacement I can live with it.

In my experience they help protect the hood and lower part of the windshield, they don't seem to help much that high on the windshield. The old straight up verticle ones probably did as the expense of looks.

Thanks for the response. That's what I was afraid of... The first chip I had filled was lower near the wipers. I think I had one that I didn't notice right on the sensor housing which led to the crack when I got a third chip in the same area. I guess still might be worth the sub-$100 cost to get any help possible.
