Apple carplay

Does anyone know if the Apple carplay can be used through bluetooth versus having to plug in the iphone to USB?

The reason I am asking is, with the wireless charging, it would be great to use apple carplay by just setting your iphone into the wireless charging area and not having to plug it into the USB. I know Apple carplay started supporting bluetooth wireless a year or so ago.

Nope. To my knowledge Apple's new "Wireless Car Play" feature hasn't been adopted by many or any auto manufacturers, and is only available via 3rd party infotainment systems. I was hoping the Ram would support it, but alas.
