Hey guys, Ive noticed that my apply carplay does not work all the time. I will see that the phone is charging but not syncing up with carplay. It has done this a few times. Then I will notice my usb charging ports will not charge at all(Front dash ones). Then when i turn off the truck and turn it back on again the charing will work again, but sometimes no carplay. Its frustrating because then I have to pair my phone with the bluetooth. Does anybody know if you can have the phone paired with the bluetooth and carplay? Which one will work then.

I use my phone bluetooth most of the time. If i plug it in, press apps > carplay, then it uses that. if it gets unplugged I might have to hit media > bluetooth for music to start playing again, but it's not a big deal. Be sure you're using the charging cable that came with your phone, or a 3rd party one that says "MFi Certified" on it, otherwise that might be what's causing you trouble.

Im using an apple cord. My front two charging ports seems to work intermittently and wont charge at all.

Hi Rock, Do all features of apple play work with bluetooth including NAV?

To use "Apple Car Play", you need to be plugged in. If you're connected via BlueTooth, you get Audio, you can still invoke Siri by holding down the voice button on the steering wheel, and you get Navigation instructions (again, via Audio only. No maps on screens). The only thing your phone will ever put on any screen when it's connected via BlueTooth is the name of the song that's playing. Conveniently, the truck will mix audio properly from different sources too, so say if you're listening to Sirius/XM radio , it'll still pipe up with navigation instructions when it's time to make a turn.

Myself and another member are having this same issue. I’m guessing it’s a software glitch. The other member is bringing the truck to the dealer tomorrow so hopefully they have some answers. Mine is doing exactly the same thing. It intermittently charges and CarPlay is doesn’t work either. Then next time I get in the truck it works fine

There is another thread about this under warranty section
