Anyone removed this screen/filter??

Anyone taken this plastic welded in screen/filter? Seems restrictive to me and mine looks filthy.

I always wandered the same thing. I also have a K&N filter buts seems counter intuitive with that thick filter restricting the airflow .

That's part of your evaporative emissions system. Fuel vapors in your intake are supposed to fnd their way out and stick there. The next time your truck starts, fresh air carries the fumes in to burn away. Removing it won't affect the way the truck runs at all, but if you have a nitpicky smog inspector, he might catch it.

I removed mine but still have OEM filter.

I think I removed mine within the first week of ownership in December of 2020. No issues yet!

Removed mine right after I got it. Then upgraded to the Chrysler RAM airflow CAI which didn't even have one.
