I have a Big Horn 5.7 Quad Cab 6'4" on order with the plow prep and Off Road pkgs. I have 2000' of NH driveway that I need to keep clear. The Meyer and Boss only offer a Full Trip plow for the 1500, but Fisher offers the HT and SD, both with Trip Edge for the 1500.

I had a light duty full trip long ago on a Blazer S10 when I moved here, I hated that stupid thing! In '03 I got a Silverado and installed a Meyer with a trip edge and it has been great! But it is time to move on.

I'm liking the Fisher because it is the only one with the trip edge. The choice is between the HT, which has the hydraulics directly lifting the plow and is 60lb lighter. The SD uses the conventional chains and is heavier and $500 more. The dealer is pushing the SD.

If there is anyone with knowledge or experience with plows on the 1500's I would really appreciate your thoughts! Thanks!

Look at SNOWAY, very happy on my Rebel, wireless remote, down pressure. Installed frt Timbren kit to protect frt suspension and only plow my driveway.

Thanks! With the plow off, does the mount cause much loss of ground clearance?

I take the lower plow frame off in the spring, 8 bolts, no interference with ground clearance.

Resurecting this thread. I have a 2022 1500 Crew Limited. Looking for driveway plow solutions - gravel drive.

@DIRTRIDER - still like the Snoway?

Looked at the Meyer and Boss.

Curious to see if anyone else has real world experience with these or others.

Easy to slip on? Any issues with FCW/Airbags/Sensors?

TIA!

What did you end up going with?

SNOWAY has been the best plow setup for me, I only plow my large asphalt driveway , no commercial plowing and remove blade when done plowing, don’t drive around with it. Specifically built for 1/2 tons, remote controller, moves up/down, side/side very quickly and has down pressure for back dragging. Easy quick install, shut off front park sensors when plowing. Use Boss & Hiniker plows at work and the SNOWAY performs much better with no issues. I live in Western NY south of Buffalo and get a lot of snow, so I have a lot of plow time under my belt.

Looking at their website. They don't list prices only dealers. Did you have to install yourself or did the dealer install it? There's one close to me that looks like a truck fabrication shop.

Which motor do you have? Ram notes there's a "plow prep package" that includes a 220A alternator, do you have the regular 180A, the 220A, or whatever the eTorque uses?

When you remove the blade, any idea how much weight is left on the truck with the lower frame? Or how much weight is left on the truck with the lower frame removed like you do in the spring? Curious about impact on payload.

Actually bought the blade lightly used for $1800 and had a dealer do the install for $400, the plow is on a Rebel with 5.7 hemi and normal charging system, the lower frame I remove in the spring probably weighs 50-75 lbs, best guess.
