I believe the USB ports stay on for charging, 2 hours after the truck turns off..
has anyone tapped the wire for use for other things? ie like a dash cam?

Mine stay on for more than 2 hours im pretty sure......

Pull the panel down under the steering wheel. In the fuse block behind that panel, you are looking for F54. It will probably be in the right two holes, pull it out and put it in the left two holes and that will make the plugs under the radio and the 12 volt accessory plug on top of dash hot all the time. This may help with what you are trying to do.
