Just learned of them from a forum member. Surprised I never noticed them before.

Entered in my info and was almost immediately contacted by them. I was quite surprised to see they would pay me $3-4000 more than any other company to purchase my current truck.

Are they legitimate? Was the transaction as smooth as they make it sound?

Never heard of them before. If you use them I would definitely be careful of your transaction method. You don't want to deposit a bad check, or hand your bank account info over to scammers. I know, obvious statements, but people still fall prey...

I used Driveway twice and had two completely different experiences.
The deal was completed in a few days for the first vehicle. The process for the second one took almost two full months.
We got such a great price on the first vehicle we decided to check the value on my wife's SUV just a few days after completing the deal on the first one. They offered us another great price. We had put 81,000 miles on her SUV in two and a half years. They gave us $2,500 less than what we paid for it. It was a no-brainer to sell it to them at that point. The problem was that all the steps that were done so quickly on the first vehicle were so prolonged on the process for the second vehicle. Once the contracts were singed and returned to them, payment to us was made in 2 days and 3 days later we got notification that loan was paid-off as well. Other than it taking 7 weeks from offer to vehicle pick-up, it was a good experience. The prices Driveway offered were waaaaaay (many thousands) higher than Carvana, CarMax, CarGuru, etc, so it was well worth the delay. In fairness, the said they were growing fast and changing their process and the change began during our deal. They hoped that once fully implemented the change would streamline thing and not cause delays.
I would use them again.

I haven't heard anything about this platform for buying a car since I've used others. Last year I bought a car. I spent a lot of time choosing a good car.
