On or around August 25,m I started getting Sirius XM for free. I remember because it was a few days before the Maximum Metallica channel started on 8/29. I figured it was a promotion for that channel so didn't think much about it. August 29 came and went and it was still free, so I figured it was a labor day special. Well, I've still got full access. I;ve never subscribed so they don;t have any credit cards on file for me. I;m not sure why I have it for free, but I'm enjoying it while I can. This ever happen to anybody else?

Not me either. I got some months free when I bought the truck, then was asked for something like $30 month to continue. No. It got down to even something like $3 a month. No.

Thinking about it now a bit over a year later, I don't think they have even sent me junk mail in a while. They used to do that.

I honestly couldn't say either way. I gave up on Sirius a long time ago. With all the other audio options available, Sirius is losing their market share. Hard to compete with Bluetooth, car play, and Android Auto at no cost.

And the radio, the vehicles still have this. And a handy button on the back of the steering wheel to go to another station.

I am. I bought a 2019 Bighorn from a dealer about 2 months ago. Shortly after I got it I discovered that all of the XM channels were working. I have not subscribed. I am guessing that the previous owner never canceled their subscription.

You might have a free trial. Give it another month and see.

If you do like it, don't sign ups right away at the high price, skip a couple months and take the $3/month offer. Then in another year, rinse and repeat.

Is that something the dealer would have arranged? How would XM know that I am the new owner?

Yes, Mine (used '22 Rebel just over a year ago) was activated as part of dealer prep. After that, I can not remember if I got USPS mail or eMail or both with the subscription offers. There was also a little round sticker on the driver's side door glass showing it was activated. I razored that off when I got to it. Make sure the window does not have applied tint before doing so if you have the sticker.

We probably should all just keep quiet about it and enjoy it while we can. Calling attention to it might cause Sirius to start checking. Forums are easy search targets for any company looking for "non-paying customers".
.

Dealers have temporary subscriptions for such things. Some do it on pre-owned vehicles. Some don't. Sirius provides it temporarily from time to time. Not sure how they expect people to know other than they just trip over it one day.

free.99 is very good.
i just renewed my contract, went from $4.99/ month last year to $5.99 for the next 12 months.

$12 more a year isn't a deal breaker for me, and mostly I use it for long trips/ long drives when I run out of fresh episodes of Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh and some other Taiwanese podcasts shows on Spotify lol then I switch over to The Highway or Prime Country.

When my free script ran out ghey wanted 28.99 mon ..I cancelldd it..they offered 4 bucks a month for year
.I took it..when it ran out they wanted 28.99 so i again said no way..got another 4 buvks offer..Its certainly worth that but definitely not the 28.99 ..thats the sucker price..I mostly listen to the 1000 classic rock channel.. no repeats
