I wanted to a quick write up on this. I recently installed my AMP Research steps. The only problem that I ran into was after everything was installed the step deployment did not work as intended. When I opened the driver side front door, the passenger side step deployed. When I opened the driver side rear door, the driver side step deployed. This same thing happened on the passenger side as well. I was at a loss and couldn't find much info on the web for this issue. I also saw some other people having this issue and there was no answer for how to fix it. I changed the wire connection at the OBDII connection. This then made the pattern be: driver side front door open, driver side step deployed, driver side rear door open, passenger side step deployed. That lead me to believe either the controller or OBDII connector was wired wrong. The wiring harness has a yellow tag on it that says stop, make sure the 9 pin connector is as shown. This seems to be very important. The problem is the OBDII connector. I had installed these steps previously and happened to have the old OBDII connector. Once I wired into the old one, everything worked as it was supposed to. Unfortunately, if you don't have an old OBDII connector, then you have to contact AMP to get a new one. I hope this helps people that are having this same issue.
