Looking at a 2019 Ram. Maximum payload is 1,780 lbs. Tongue weight is 922 lbs which only leaves 858 lbs for a family of 4 and our stuff and we aren’t small people. Do you think I’m ok?

1780 is a pretty stripped down Ram...depending on what you get you can be several hundred pounds less

And I'm guessing at 922 your towing almost 9000?

Think you pushing the Ram 1500, especially with a family of 4 and gear

were did you get the payload of 1780#s ??
what is the TT GVWR (max loaded weight) ??
how long is the TT ??
does the family of 4 include YOU ??
how is the Ram equipped ??
there are several other threads you could get into and then many others will all have an opinion, BUT you have to figure out what you feel safe moving your family around in

You need to look at the specific payload sticker in the door jam of the truck you're considering. I believe 1780 is a figure from the website, a best case scenario with no options. for a crew cab 4x4
