Alpine audio system question..

I count 4 door speakers, 3 dash speakers and 2 speakers above the rear seat headrests which comes out to a total of 9.
Does the subwoofer count as a speaker or is it in a world of its own?? TIA!

I believe my window sticker read Alpine 9 speaker system with subwoofer, which would make it a 10 speaker system. So yes, the sub is kind of an after though I guess you could say.
