Hello all,
I recently bought an Alpha OBD reader and bypass cable, and was wondering if anyone else has used it on their truck and if there is a verified lists of upgrades that have been done for the Ram 1500? I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie eTorque with the 5.7 Hemi.

Thanks

Lots of us have. Use search and you will find lots of uses for it.

I've used it for many things, Its a very useful tool. On my current truck I've made it so my fog lights stay on with the high beams and disabled the seat belt chime. I programmed a spare key for my brothers truck, did the fog light deal on his and on my old truck added a factory trailer brake controller and switched the controls over for the tow mirrors I added to the truck

Nice, thanks for the reply. I really wish the menus were easier to get through, there is allot of line items. My main concern is I fool with something and get to that point of no return thing. I understand there is a way to save your initial settings on Goggle drive, just in case. That's why I seek a "Verified" list of mods performed that will keep me out of trouble! Lol

  1. First lesson, learn how to save and restore backup files.
  2. Get a notebook and write down the values that you are going to change
    1. make notes of the changes you make and their effects/results
    2. watch Youtube videos, read lots of forum posts - take notes/learn
    3. One of the easiest mods/changes is to keep the fog lights on with high beams - easy to verify if it is working.
    4. make a backup after every change so that you can restore back to previous settings if something goes wrong / reason again to document in notebook starting and ending values of variables you change
      1. make only 1 change /feature at a time, easier to go back if it is a bad switch/feature add for your truck.
  3. Happy modding and welcome to the forefront of making the truck yours.

There is an entire thread in here that is exactly what you ask. I think it's even stickied to the top

First thing I did was the backup of config. files.
After that, took screenshots of all the module`s settings and values.
I am too much of a chicken to mess with anything major, did entertain myself once by controlling the windshield washer from the alfaobd.
