The air systems can be a little weird - and they will constantly try to self level - even with the truck off. I've walked by the truck after it's been off for hours, and hear the compressor going.
I always use entry/exit - because I'm short/fat and it makes it easier to haul my butt into the truck. I had a 1500 Classic with no running boards as a loaner for a day - and I could barely get myself into it (I'll take the Jeep loaner next time).
Have also noticed - when I come out of a restaurant after a meal - I have a smoke (have never smoked in the truck). I usually remote start the truck to get the interior cooled down - and I've noticed the suspension lowering back down to entry/exit - so I suspect it levels itself up some, while I'm away from it.
This is one of those "computers are always running" things - and probably responsible for a number of "dead battery" incidents too.
It's a great convenience item - and the ride quality of the air ride is second-to-none - but the more crap you have/the more crap there is to FAIL.
If where you park is uneven, the truck will constantly adjust to try and level itself.
Pull the battery about 10 minutes (to give time for all the power to drain off the systems), then re-connect. If you drive it right away - most of the stuff is going to be wonky (while all the computers get around to talking to each other again). If you let it sit a couple of hours after reconnecting the battery - most (if not all) the stuff will be working again. Again - all this stuff is STILL ENERGIZED - EVEN WITH THE TRUCK OFF.
