Hi All,

I've seen a bunch of posts here from the very early days of the 5th gen but those seemed mostly guessing / speculating about what could be done with the AS + OFG. Can't find any recent posts about this because maybe everyone's already got it figured out (?)

Do I have this correct that the ORG lift is not mechanical but instead it's just that the regular air spring is programmed to sit 1" higher in Aero and Normal (where the ORG Normal is the non-ORG OR1)?

If so, is there anything that can be done to negate the programmed lift with the ORG? I like everything about the package except the lift. (Assuming my understating of how the lift is created is correct. In which case you can get the same max height with OR2 setting.)

Cheers,
Toby.

Pull a fuse.
I think you're saying to disable the air suspension system -- not what I'm getting at. Just wondering if there's a way to just get the air suspension left "un-modified" or to modify it back to it's original 5 height settings.

It sits higher at all settings except E/E (which is why it tops out with only 1 Off Road mode, just like the Rebel with AS).

I’ve not seen anyone post about defeating this on this forum, although there are some old threads discussing how it would be nice to have this kind of control.

You can easily do it with links. Either make your own and shorten the rear and lengthen the front ones. Or buy lowering links.

Exactly. I've seen posts from you back aways while reading up about this.

Am I correct in my understanding that the lift from ORP on top of AS is just a programming thing (bumping up the Aero and Normal height settings by 1", and removing OR1 as it now is the same as Normal)? And the lift is not created with something mechanical like links or longer springs?

Correct.

Great, thanks.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone has found a way to revert it back to normal in software. It could just be some simple setting (that's not user-accessible), or larger like a flashed package.

I'm not so concerned about any impact on fuel economy from riding higher, it's that I want the smoothest ride I can get and it sounds like the air springs ride a little more harshly the more they're extended. That said, most comments I've seen here say the difference is pretty slight.

If you’re just wanting smoother ride, literally just put the truck in aero and leave it there.

Ah, OK! For some reason I was thinking you could not leave it in Aero -- that it automatically switched in and out of Aero mode based on your road speed. So that's not the case? You can set it to ride in Aero and it'll just stay there until you choose something else?

Yes (in UConnect).
