Air suspension and shocks?

Getting a flat fixed at Discount and was looking at the truck while the tire is off.

Didn't realize we have air bags and shocks. Really thought the bags did both operations of damping and ride height.

Anybody know if it's necessary to upgrade/replace rear shocks on the air ride models? Can't find any information on the topic. Most manufactures offer front coil over or lift packages. Just didn't know if an upgrade on just the rear shocks was available. BDS has a 4" lift package with rear shocks, but I have a leveling kit that is fine. Just thought a rear option on the shocks may be worth looking into. Keep on Truckin!
