My old truck, 2012 Ram 3500 Dually had this so I wanted air bags on this truck. 2019 Ram 1500 new style.

I used air lift part number 89375 for the air bags, Load Lifter Ultimate Plus. I wanted the stainless steel lines and hardware inside the bags for extra strength and long life.

On the 3500 I used the Wireless controller that was first gen. Now they have it with a different controller, plus you can use an app on your phone. 25980. And two days or so before I install it, they now have a 25980ez that has it all put together saving about an hour of install time. I didn’t want to wait another week so I went ahead.

Install of the bags and compressor was about six hours. You want to lay everything out on the floor. Read the manual and get to know your trucks underside. Overall not a hard install, it just took some time and patience. Biggest thing was understanding everything and getting the old bump stops out.

I will say this thing is fast. The old system would take a couple of minutes to air up to 65psi and then back down to 5psi. Granted my bags were Carli Suspension long travel bags. But these air from 5psi to 60 in less than 30 seconds. And then from 60psi to 5 is less than 10 seconds.

Oh yes, the biggest thing is paring your controller wirelessly with the solenoid is way easier. The old system you had to ground a wire which then put it into pairing mode. With this new system, you pull a fuse out and wait 10 seconds and then insert it. Voila.

I noticed the gen 2 wireless with cell phone app only has one universal line with a y-split for both bags. Are there any issues or discrepancies with the psi for each bag on this system. The older system can be bought with two distinct lines.

Also, the distributor I spoke with recommends the Firestone compressor with cell phone integration/control, as it will easily replace the air lift compressor, and is compatible with the air lift 5000HD+, which I do plan to buy. The Firestone compressor is another $130 over the airlift model with cell phone control.

Just curious, did the ride quality change at all after you installed them? I am looking to do the same thing but I also love the ride of my Ram and don't want to change that materially.

The only thing I don’t like about that bag setup is cutting off the bumpstop brackets.

Other than that great system. I’m thinking of adding it to mine

If you use the Timber Grove Airbags, you don’t cut off the bumpstop brackets or anything else. Just pull the bumpstops out. Something you may want to think about
